Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch and a symbol of the United Kingdom. Standing outside its grand gates and taking in the impressive façade is a quintessential London experience. The palace feels both regal and historic, especially when the Union Flag is flying above.
We enjoyed walking around the surrounding gardens and Victoria Memorial, which offers excellent photo opportunities of the palace in the background. The atmosphere is especially lively during the Changing of the Guard ceremony, when crowds gather to watch the traditional display.
Tip: Arrive early if you want a good viewing spot for the Changing of the Guard, as it fills up quickly. Even outside of ceremony times, visiting in the morning means fewer crowds and better photo opportunities.
