The DC Signature Brewery Tour with City Brew Tours is an excellent way to experience Washington, DC’s growing craft beer scene without worrying about logistics. The tour takes you to multiple breweries across the DC area, offering a well-rounded look at different styles, spaces, and brewing approaches all in one afternoon.
On our tour, we visited DC Brau, Red Bear Brewing, and Aslin Beer Company, each bringing its own unique vibe and lineup of beers. From crisp lagers to hop-forward IPAs and creative specialty brews, the variety across the three stops kept things interesting from start to finish.
In total, we sampled 12 different beers throughout the experience, making it a fantastic way to explore a wide range of flavors without committing to full pours at each location. The tastings were well-paced, giving you time to enjoy each brewery without feeling rushed. Some of our favorites on the tour were the Golden Funk Lambic at DC Brau, Volcano Sauce Sour with Blackberries, Blueberries, and Vanilla at Aslin Beer Company, and the DC Dirt Porter and Peak Bloom Cherry Whit at Red Bear Brewing Co.
One of the standout aspects of the tour is the behind-the-scenes access. At each stop, we were guided through the brewing and production areas, learning more about the equipment, ingredients, and processes that go into crafting each beer. It adds a deeper appreciation for what’s in your glass beyond just the tasting itself.
What really elevated the experience, though, was our guide Caleb, the DC franchise owner and general manager. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and personal connection to the breweries made the tour feel more like an insider experience than a standard group outing. It’s clear he’s passionate about both the craft beer industry and creating a great experience for guests.
