Our Experience - City Brew Tours Happy Hour Beer Tour
Our Montreal beer tour with City Brew Tours was one of the most informative and well-paced beer experiences we’ve done, and a big part of that was our fantastic guide, Violette. From the moment we stepped into the van, she set the tone with deep knowledge of Montreal’s beer scene and an approachable, fun energy that made the day feel both educational and relaxed.
The tour took us to three local Montreal breweries, giving us a great cross-section of the city’s craft beer culture. Across the stops, we sampled approximately 10 different local craft beers, ranging in style and flavor, with plenty of context around what made each brewery unique.
One of the highlights was the behind-the-scenes brewery tour at one of our stops, where we learned about the brewing process up close, saw the production area, and got practical insights into beer fundamentals. We were even taught how to properly pour a beer and walked through the steps of tasting, from aroma to mouthfeel and finish — skills we still use today.
The experience also included a meal at one of the breweries, which was perfectly timed and added a nice break between tastings. A thoughtful touch was the inclusion of tasting and flavor profile cards, which helped us track what we were trying and made it easier to remember favorites later on.
Between the variety of breweries, the educational depth, and Violette’s excellent guiding, this tour struck the perfect balance between learning, tasting, and exploring.
