Our Experience - Munich Beer & Schnapps Tour
The Munich Beer & Schnapps Tour was an absolute highlight, made truly unforgettable by our incredible guide, Zsofia. We happened to be the only two people booked on the tour, and instead of feeling scaled back, the experience felt completely elevated. Zsofia leaned into the private tour format and customized the entire experience around our tastes, making it feel personal, relaxed, and incredibly fun.
Over the course of the tour, we visited three different stops throughout Munich and sampled an impressive lineup of local beverages. In total, we tried (I use that loosely as they were full, Munich-sized pours) five different beers and three to four schnapps, each carefully selected and thoughtfully explained. One standout favorite was the black walnut schnapps — unique, rich, and unlike anything we had tried before.
Beyond the tastings, the tour was packed with insight into Munich’s deep brewing history and culture. Zsofia did a fantastic job explaining the importance of beer in Bavarian life, including the famous Munich purity laws and how they continue to shape brewing today. The storytelling added so much depth to each stop and made the experience feel both educational and indulgent.
We also enjoyed a few traditional snacks along the way, including Kaiserschmarrn, which paired perfectly with the beers and helped balance out what was, admittedly, an ample amount of beer. All in all, this tour was the perfect (and delicious) way to immerse ourselves in Munich’s beer culture — and honestly, excellent preparation for Oktoberfest!
