Our Experience - The Secret Food Tours: Munich
Our Secret Food Tour in Munich was a fantastic introduction to Bavarian cuisine and culture! Amanda, our guide, brought incredible energy and shared fascinating stories about the history of Munich, making the experience engaging from start to finish.
After tasting a pastry at the Marienplatz (and watching the glockenspiel) followed by a snack, we very much enjoyed a traditional Bavarian breakfast in a historic Munich establishment, having a freshly baked pretzel, white sausage, and a refreshing Hefeweizen. Each bite and sip gave us a true taste of local tradition and set the perfect tone for the day.
One of the highlights was a decadent cheese platter paired with local honey wine, showcasing flavors unique to the region. We also strolled through the vibrant Viktualienmarkt, soaking in the sights, smells, and local food culture of Munich’s famous market.
The tour ended on a sweet note with Kaiserschmarrn, a fluffy shredded pancake dessert that was as delicious as it was fun to eat. Overall, this tour was a perfect blend of food, culture, and history, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Munich!
