Our Experience - Maui Brewing Co VIP Production Facility Tour
The Maui Brewing Co VIP Production Facility tour in Kihei was both informative and immersive, offering a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at one of Hawaii’s most well-known breweries. From the start, the guided tour struck a great balance between education and storytelling, making it enjoyable whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just curious about the brewing process.
One of the highlights was walking through the production facility itself. Seeing the scale of operations up close — from brewing and fermentation to packaging — really brought the process to life. The guide did an excellent job explaining the ingredients, techniques, and logistics involved in producing beer at this level.
We were especially impressed by Maui Brewing’s commitment to sustainability. The tour emphasized their eco-friendly practices, including efforts to reduce waste, conserve energy, and operate responsibly within the local environment. It was refreshing to see sustainability treated as a core part of the brewery’s mission rather than just a talking point.
After the guided portion of the tour, we were taken to a private tasting room where we sampled several of Maui Brewing’s beers. The relaxed setting made it easy to take our time, ask questions, and really appreciate the variety and quality of what we were tasting.
Before the tour, we also enjoyed a "snack" at the on-site Kihei restaurant — a great decision. I say snack because we intended to just have a bite, but the portions were generous, the food was excellent, and it was the perfect way to fuel up before exploring the brewery. Between the food, the tour, and the tasting, the entire experience was a great post-beach stop for an afternoon.
