Our Experience - Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is unlike anywhere else in the world. As America's first national park and one of the most geologically unique places on Earth, Yellowstone combines explosive geothermal activity, dramatic landscapes, and incredible wildlife into an unforgettable experience.

The park's geothermal features are the main attraction for many visitors. From the iconic eruption of Old Faithful to the vibrant colors of Grand Prismatic Spring, the bubbling mud pots, steaming geysers, and otherworldly thermal areas showcase the immense power beneath the Earth's surface.

Beyond the geothermal wonders, Yellowstone is one of the best places in the country for wildlife viewing. Massive herds of bison roam freely throughout the park, while elk, bears, wolves, and other animals can often be spotted across the valleys and waterways. Some of our most memorable moments came from simply driving through the park and seeing wildlife in its natural environment.

The park's size is part of what makes it so impressive. Scenic drives through Yellowstone reveal constantly changing landscapes, from alpine forests and mountain lakes to waterfalls, canyons, and wide-open valleys. Highlights such as the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Yellowstone Lake showcase just how diverse this incredible park truly is.

Our biggest tips for visiting Yellowstone are to arrive early and dress in layers. The park gets extremely busy, especially around popular attractions like Old Faithful and the major thermal areas, and arriving early makes it much easier to find parking and enjoy the scenery without the largest crowds. Weather can also change quickly, even during summer, so having layers available will make your day much more comfortable.

Yellowstone is a destination that rewards patience and exploration. Whether you're watching a geyser erupt, standing beside a colorful hot spring, or unexpectedly encountering a herd of bison along the road, every moment in this incredible national park feels like an adventure.
