Our Experience - Pearl Harbor National Memorial

The Pearl Harbor National Memorial is the emotional centerpiece of any visit to Pearl Harbor, offering a powerful and moving look into one of the most pivotal moments in American history. Located on the shores of Oʻahu, this site preserves the memory of the events of December 7, 1941, and honors those who lost their lives during the attack.

The experience begins with a short documentary film that provides important historical context, setting the stage for what you’re about to see. From there, visitors board a Navy-operated boat that takes you out to the USS Arizona Memorial, which sits directly above the remains of the sunken battleship.

Standing above the USS Arizona is a solemn and reflective experience. Looking down into the water, you can still see parts of the ship below, along with oil droplets that continue to rise to the surface—often referred to as the “tears of the Arizona.” It’s a powerful reminder of the lives lost and the lasting impact of that day.

More than just a historical site, the memorial offers a quiet space for reflection and remembrance. It’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression and is an essential part of any visit to Pearl Harbor.
