Our Experience - Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument
Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument preserves one of the most fascinating geological stories in the Southwest. Nearly a thousand years ago, a volcanic eruption transformed the surrounding landscape, leaving behind lava flows, cinder fields, and the dramatic volcanic scenery visitors see today.
The monument offers an opportunity to explore terrain that feels surprisingly otherworldly. Black volcanic rock contrasts sharply with surrounding forests and distant mountain views, creating one of the most visually unique landscapes in Arizona.
